I agree, though I enjoyed NSMB2, Super Mario 3D Land is much better. Such a brilliant game.

Shin Megami Tensei IV (includes gameplay footage)

And before Tomby bitches about the game being Japanese and therefore not bound for western release, considering all three previous Shin Megami Tensei games have been released internationally, it's almost certain this will also.
I would hope he would have learnt his lesson after going on and on about Monster Hunter 3 for 3DS not being released outside Japan. Boy was he wrong there....

Good news for those interested in Project X Zone!
Namco Bandai have revealed that the company is waiting to see how the game sells in Japan. If Namco does decide that the game’s performance in Japan is satisfactory, the title would be released in the west!
Given how it's a fucking Namco Bandai/Sega/Capcom crossover fighter & the 3DS is dominating the motherland just like the DS did, i'm guessing it's going to sell like gangbusters in Japan, and we should see a future release here.

Super Mario 3D Land is so superior to NSMB2 it's not funny.
NSMB2 is a game I can never see myself going back to.

Not sure what the good news is. The game isn't confirmed for an English release and the unit is region-locked. Epic fail.

Has the Japanese games market become more niche in the last few years or has the advance of western game development made Japanese games look that way?

Monster hunter on 3ds will sell well in japan but without online it might sell crap here.
The monster hunter on wiiu will have the online won't it? The chances of that selling well are higher since unlike japan which is densely packed population of gamers we can't find as many people link locally.
Any new vids of that game about mechs? I can't remember its name now but that one looks good. (the third person shooter one)

Shenmue let us do all of that years ago. You should be flogging that half decent Lego game I saw months back. It's the only game that could possibly get people here interested in a Wii U.

If it gets a western release it will be under a different name. The title bravely default is in reference to the characters stance. By default you charcter uses a brave stance hence the title. I think the characters are meant to use different stances during combat.

Re: Nintendo 3DS Thread – 3DS @ Tokyo Game Show 2012
I think there was another game like that about flying and shit.
So far we got Fairies, Kid Icarus, and then that yuji naka game where you fly around:
http://www.destructoid.com/yuji-naka-s- ... 2014.phtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sounds like they are all ripping off each other for ideas. I wish one of these guys could make a macross style shooter where you fly around as a transforming robot. I miss transbot on the master system.
Edit:
looks like Rhodea te sky soldier might not be coming out:
http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/9/2 ... l-in-limbo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
find out if it is coming out Rocco. Fans of Nights should be pissed about this. First you ignore Code of Princess then you try to hide the good games like this from us.

If it doesn't come out on wii and 3ds maybe they can release a port of this to vita.Former Sonic Team leader Yuji Naka, founder of studio Prope, says his company completed work on its Wii game Rodea the Sky Soldier last year, but he has no idea when — or if — it will ever come out. With the Wii U coming out later this year, Naka seems concerned about the fate of his company's still-to-be-released Wii game, which has no release date and no publisher outside of Japan.
Polygon spoke with Naka at Proper earlier this week, inquiring about the fate of Rodea the Sky Soldier, which was officially announced in 2011 for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS.
"I want to ask the same question!" Naka said. "We have finished developing the Wii version and we have already submitted it. That was around a year ago. But it seems like they are still considering the [details of] the 3DS version."
Kadokawa Games is responsible for publishing Rodea and developing the 3DS version, Naka says.
"It might be close to being finished," Naka said of the 3DS version of Rodea, "but we havent spoken to Kadokawa in a while, so I'm not sure. Kadokawa never said they're not going to sell it, so I would guess they'll release it sometime in 2013 or so."
"That has to get cleared up," he said. "Because of that, I'm not sure what's going to happen to the game. However, I'm very confident we were able to create a new type of action game. I really want a lot of people to play this game."
With the Wii coming to the end of its lifecycle, Naka sounded worried about the fate of Rodea the Sky Soldier and its chances for success.
"One unfortunate thing about the Wii U announcement: It doesn't come with a Wii remote," Naka lamented, "so Rodea and all the other Wii titles I created, people won't be able to play it with a Wii remote. They'll have to use the Wii U GamePad.
"I created the game specifically for the Wii remote, so it's going to turn into a totally different experience. I'm really down about that because Rodea is a really good game."
Despite Naka's worries about the Wii U harming Rodea the Sky Soldier's chances, the former creator behind the Sonic the Hedgehog series seemed positive about Nintendo's next-gen console.
"Whenever there is new hardware, I feel like creating something for it," Naka said. "Following the announcement of the Wii U, I've been writing a bunch of game concepts. I'm hoping to be able to create a game for Wii U. Any new piece of hardware always looks fun. Kinect looks interesting, as well."
Prope recently released Buddy Monster for iOS and Android platforms via Mobage. Prope's Digimon Adventure for PSP is out this week.

You mean like the Vita? Silly rabbit, Capcom wants their game to sell. How would Monster Hunter 4 sell on a handheld that is globally a dead on arrival flop, in which developers have abandoned, stores refused to sell, has no advertising, and failed to generate any public interest?
As for Monster Hunter 4 and a western release? Haven't you learnt your lesson yet? You are a total fuck head if you think Monster Hunter 4 won't be released outside Japan.
Can't wait until Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is out here for 3DS in March (especially with it's cross-play functionality with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate HD for Wii U also due for a local release in March).
Shame you (and Sony) are going to miss out...

I feel like playing monster hunter tri again. I remember how good I thought the graphics were for wii at the time. Hopefully these sequels and remakes sell well. And capcom should remember to put in tutorials for noobs to introduce people to the franchise. It's not like heroes of ruin where you can mash your way to victory without understanding the monsters intimately so you can react to their moves with intelligence.
It is a shame monster hunter frontier did not make it over to xb360 in the west.
